Paying for the Solar Panel Fiasco

.
Why was there a special meeting of the Union County Improvement Authority (UCIA) on October 14, 2014?

The list of resolutions from that meeting are now posted and Resolution No. 93-2014 resolves:

that the Executive Director is authorized to make the October 15, 2014 debt service payment for the renewable energy program from Authority funds not to exceed Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000)

Those Authority funds are your tax money which will be coming either directly from the county with their own special authorization or possibly from the sale of Runnells (which at that same meeting was also moved to December 1, 2014).

Where is that money going?  Per UCIA Approved Bill listings, over $2.1 million so far to the usual suspects who duped you (as represented by the freeholders) into this fiasco.

comingling of monies and embezzling for secret pay stipends and payment of failed solar programs, a fitting example of ex-freeholder Sullivan director of the UCIA and the union county govt as an incompetent criminal enterprise.

And to think taxpayers are still paying that wretched DeCotiis law firm when the County should be suing it for malpractice or gross negligence.

    @ John Bury:

When you have the “In mates” running the asylum, i.e., the lawyers running county government, we’re left with the “In mates” unelected people setting policy, acting as consultants and lawyers, making money off the taxpayers, as is here.

What do you call 1,000 lawyers at the bottom of the sea?

    A start.

    (That’s an old joke)

Did any entity make a 25% savings on energy as promised by the “In mate” Jonathan Williams? If not, those entities should sue too.

No guts by any of them.

Exhibit A + clip of Jonathan Williams. Case wrapped up and over.

If I’m not mistaken, Gable Associates played a part in this scam. Sue them too.

With the County’s and UCIA’s forces of obstruction, cover-up and deception fully at work, we may not soon get to the bottom of this solar panel financing fiasco. But the situation looks like it might give the story some substantial staying power. About $9 to 10 million in debt service remains to be paid on the Solar Revenue Energy Bonds over the next ten years. That’s a lot of money and a long time to keep the creative accounting and phony cash movements going in order to keep this matter out of the public eye. Are Union County and the UCIA up to that challenge?

In the meantime, here a few other, shorter term questions in addition to those raised in Mr. Bury’s story (which story is timely, important and otherwise unique to ANY reporting in the so-called press covering Union County):

    — It should also be noticed that in October 2013, the UCIA likewise funneled County money to pay such debt service (at least the $330K “authorized” to be paid to the Bond Trustee (http://ucimprovementauthority.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/bill-list-2013-10-02-13.pdf under the heading “Renewable Energy”). So where and when was the needed payment in 2013 formally so resolved by resolution similar to that contained in Resolution 93-2014?

    — Has the UCIA or Union County yet received all or any part of the funds to be paid in settlement from Tioga Energy, in lieu of the $4 million “parent guaranty” to the County, and if so, has any of such funds been applied in any manner to the debt service on the the Solar Revenue Energy Bonds by the UCIA or the County? And further, if so, just when will any of the details and documentation of these disbursements and authorizations be disclosed to the public?
