Democrat: 865  Republican: 800

Average votes with links to NJELEC records from which we learn:

While both Democrats and Republicans got about the same amount of donations from those giving $300 or less ($3,395 and $3,209) the Republicans got more party support:

  • Kenilworth Republican Committee: $3,500
  • Republican Committee of Union County: $1,000
  • Bramnick for Assembly: $1,000
  • Kean for Senate: $1,000

Other big-givers:

  • Jerry Ramos (Democrat): $500
  • Robert Beiner (Democrat): $500
  • Fred Pugliese (Republican Mayoral Candidate): $750
  • Lesnieaski Continental Shipping (Republican): $1,000
  • Lexus of Route 10  (Republican): $500
  • Joseph Neri (Republican): $800
  • Joseph Rizzo (Republican): $500
  • Bender Enterprises (Republican): $425

Since the anti-Corzine landslide of 2009 Kenilworth elections have been toss-ups:

Year………. Avg. Dem Vote……..Avg. Rep. Vote

2009…………….787……………………1,359

2010…………….916……………………..945

2011…………….848……………………..867

2012…………..1,404……………………1,441

2013…………….863……………………..990

2014…………….957……………………..912

2015…………….865……………………..800

My uneducated guess as to why it tipped Democrat in 2015 is that new mayor Anthony DeLuca is a coach in youth sports and that swung people to him over the perceived aloofness of the current mayor (and lawyer) Fred Pugliesi and the rest of the ticket followed suit.
