Courthouse Cost Number Out

Trenton politicians canceled their session today on account of the snow storm but the Union County freeholder meeting tonight at 7 pm is still on, primarily to stick to a schedule set out behind closed doors by these guys at the last freeholder meeting:

This contingent from the Union County Improvement Authority (UCIA) laid down the timeline and put a number on the additional cost county taxpayers will have to come up with to finish the Cherry Street courthouse that was originally supposed to be ready for occupancy on December 19, 2014 at a cost of $33,380,000 with the date and cost moved up to January 4, 2017 and $36,997,581.36 after the sixth change order.

The UCIA now wants:

$8 Million MORE!
