Another year of stealing almost all of the Open Space Tax:
Anyone with doubts as to whether these budget numbers are really made up on the spot with no relevance to reality only need look to that Parks Maintenance item. According to the cheesy memo justifying the thefts:
From the appropriations section of the 2021 executive budget:
$2500,000, almost 16% of the entire Parks and Recreation budget and $250,000 more than last year, is supposedly being used to maintain mostly empty land.

i am really disappointed in our Union County, they do not work for the residents but for themselves. This has to be the stupidest thing dreamed up by the county (well actually one of the many “stupidest things”). Instead of looking at the budget with integrity toward trying to save taxpayers money with proper handling of the finances, they instead look to find ways around normal operational expenditures. The county counsels’ legal opinion is nothing but a poor joke once you understand idiot counsel Bruce Bergens situation. 1 year before he was a washed up freeholder stepping down, no real legacy and going back to his law firm making hard earned pennies the legal way. However, the corrupted Union County freehodlers snuck him last year onto a county patronage job as county counsel paying suddenly $175,000 year, and with no real county legal expereince, bypassing so many hard working lawyers internally to the dept. So wti the patronage they bought his so called “legal opinion”, not worth the paper it is printed on, and saved the county budget millions while sticking it to the Open space trust fund pot of moneies and extra tax suposed to be used for bettering the quality of life for the county residents. (thats the county’s modus operandi-big money for pigs with no experience except obeisance to the politcal boss). Truly pathetic.
