Stay in white-trash Kenilworth!!

Hectic tax time and with Central States taking their time applying for a bailout and New Jersey taking their time posting the GASB 75 report for the SHBP State Retired Fund, I was facing a few dark blogging days until today’s mail brought relief.

Here is what I got with my responses below.

  • It has been a while since I had a letter in the Star Ledger so comparisons would be difficult to make as to the level of stupidity of any prior letters. I had a few hundred in there over about 30 years but barely one a year recently. I saw this letter posted online at nj.com on April 4, 2022 but could not find it in the hard copy of the paper when I checked the library that day so I’m not sure it even appeared in print.
  • The issue I have with the Clark situation is being able to pay $400,000 in extortion. You would think there would be safeguards against this sort of thing instead of guardrails to expedite it.
  • Is Bonaccorso really a racist or a victim? How many of us would survive having our every word secretly taped? I daresay even my pen pal might not come out looking gallant 24/7.
  • Sorry, but I’m not long for Kenilworth. Nothing having to do with white-trash but would you stay?

If a town is alleged racist, wouldn’t they be the ones considered “white trash”?

    • Dont’ want to overthink this but ‘white trash’ is more an economic than racist slur. Clark people are generally richer than Kenilworth people so it doesn’t sound quite right to call them white trash.

I agree the one who throws out the term comes off as racist but, in this case, it’s hard to figure out motives of the letter writer.
Is it a white ‘liberal’ living in Clark upset about being labeled the wrong kind of racist?
