Since this blog was mentioned in the lawsuit I feel obliged to set a couple of things straight on this matter.
Commenters here are anonymous. You cannot put ‘brink’ in the search engine and come up with a comment made by a Brink. You will come up with a listing of blogs that have the word ‘brink’ in the body of the blog as in ‘Mark Brink’ who was mentioned a few times in conjunction with his work at the UCIA. When you search for ‘brink’ you get those blogs and when you search for ‘excalibur’ you get only this blog that you are reading though I put this dummy word in a comment to another blog
Based on my fifteen years of following this circus, Oatman and Taylor face no real ‘risk of termination’ as long as they keep doing what Nicholas Scutari (the current county boss) tells them to do. That holds for commissioners as well who are puppets. You complain to them, you get turned in. Those truly who were at ‘risk of termination’:
- Mohamed Jalloh
- Nancy Ward
- Raymond Van Blake
- Adrian Mapp
- Andrea Staten

Reading the blogs of this Countywatchdog site going back years, we find they expose this union county govt as a profound failure of true govt, but just a corrupted self serving system. Also the countywatchers were ruled by a judges decision on pg 17 back in 2014 as a “newsmedia” and is allowed to protect any and all of their sources by the “shield law”. IMO, the 2 county employees who are suing a county resident for her opinions are just vindictive and are doing it to squelch any freedom of speech from her, her sources or others that would criticize govt. Pompous. Arseholes.

Here is my opinion. I briefly read the filing. My first question are Oatman and Taylor “public figures” under the law? If so, they have less protection against public criticisms.

Lawsuits are often a ploy in NJ where you can sue anybody for anything and this looks like one to suppress questions on MV Strategies and the UC Complex machinations.
Tina Renna was similarly sued by county employee Seb D’Elia and that case turned on there being no damages:

It’s really ironic the 2 plaintiffs in this suit, who are the 2 top officials in Union County govt, and who control our county govt operations and finances don’t even live in this county to see what impacts the residents incur. How stupid are the commissioners to allow this bizarro format. Answer: they are completely stupid. But wait, for their stupidity, for example commissioner Hudak-he apparantly gets rewarded with a $175,000 job as county surrogate, without a lick of exeperience in that field. Union County government=clown show extraordinaire!
