UCCF 12/7/17: Raises for Freeholders and Department Heads

For years Union County freeholders received annual salaries of $29,500 with the Chair of the Board getting an extra $2,000 and the Vice Chair an extra $1,000.

Starting in 2015 the raise ordinances started including freeholder salaries and these fixes have become a seasonal event. Last night we got:

790-2017 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS, THE COUNTY MANAGER AND DEPARTMENT HEADS.

    We the taxpayers cannot win. This is why voter turnout is so low. Elections are
    no longer about Public Service. It is now considered PUBLIC SELF SERVICE.
    AMAZING how these increases always occur after elections. Dems/Rep all
    the same.
